Pathways to Research Opportunities (PRO) is the newest iteration of a program originally named “Taking Control of Your Research Path”. This program was created by Sue Cardinal, the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering librarian at the University of Rochester.

Many students are admitted to the university wanting to do scholarly research but not knowing how to get started. They are told to talk to faculty, but aren’t sure what the best, most effective way is to do this. This program aims to give students experience with expressing their research interests, talking with people about these interests, and learning where they fit in.
